KARACHI: The Accountability Court remanded former Taluka Municipal Officer in yet another reference to the National Accountability Court authorities on a 14-day physical remand.
It is mentioned here that the NAB raided and picked up former TMO Sajawal Mumtaz Zardari on the charges of millions of rupees corruption in the recent past.
On the pointation of Mumtaz Zardari, the NAB had also arrested Taluka Municipal Officers Wasif Malik, Aurangzeb Magsi and Agha Jahangir, accountant Iqbal Qasim Memon and office assistant Muhammad Ali Shah.
Sources told Customs Today that these five officials had confessed of Rs 100 million corruption. However, Mumtaz Zardari after his confession is ready to pay back Rs 13 million to the NAB Court if allowed.
After hearing arguments, the accountability sent him on 14 days physical remand for further investigations.
