CANADA: European scientists acquired data from the newly revived comet lander Philae on Thursday night time, a lift to the team as they attempt to set up a safe line of communication for his or her historic scientific experiments on the floor of the comet.
The European Space Agency landed Philae on comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko in November, however the lander bounced and landed in a place too shadowy to energy its photo voltaic panels.
As the comet approached the solar, the lander stunned scientists by waking up and sending alerts to Earth on June 13.
However, since then scientists have struggled to revive a safe data hyperlink between Philae and the orbiting Rosetta mothership. The safe hyperlink is required for the scientists to relay instructions to Philae’s devices and obtain data back from the floor of the comet.
Philae radioed Rosetta for 12 minutes on Thursday night, and was capable of transmit data from considered one of its devices, CONSERT,
