Hyderabad ASO confiscates 600 crates of smuggled Iranian juice

HYDERABAD: The Pakistan Customs’ Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) in Hyderabad seized 600 crates of Iranian juice worth Rs 912,000 involving duty and taxes to the tune of Rs 558,381.

As per the details, the ASO team following information received through Hyderabad Collector Dr Ahmed Mujtaba Memon intercepted a truck bearing registration number TKA-540 going to Larkana from Karachi at Hyderabad Bypass.

The officials searched the vehicles and recovered 600 crates of smuggled juice, on which the customs officials asked the drive to produce the documents regarding the legal possession of the items, but he failed to do so.

Officials told Customs Today that after making the seizure report, the confiscated juice would be deposited to the state warehouse in Hyderabad.

The raiding party was supervised by Additional Collector Omer Shafique, and comprised Deputy Superintendent Sikander Akbar Panhwar, Seizing Officer Khair Mohammad Pathan, Inspector Momin Shah and others.
