LAHORE: The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has collected record tax of Rs 1.8 million during three days of Eidul Fitur holidays in Lahore.
Sources told Customs Today the the Excise Department has collected this amount only from theaters of Lahore which is a good recovery sign as compared to the last year. The Excise has the authority to collect entertainment tax from stage dramas performed in different theaters of Punjab. According to details, the Excise has collected this tax from Alhamra hall, Alfalah theater, Mehfal theater and some other theaters as well. Big share of the tax has been collected from super hit stage show Naught Number One during Eid days.
