SAARC Women Entrepreneur Council for exploiting entrepreneurship of women

ISLAMABAD: The Chairperson South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Women Entrepreneurship Council (SAARCWEC) Shaista Pervaiz Malik on Thursday called for exploiting full potential of women entrepreneurship to alleviate poverty in the region.

“We can alleviate poverty from the region by exploiting full potentialof the women entrepreneurship and promoting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the South Asia region”, Shaista Pervaiz Malik who is also member of National Assembly told APP prior to her departure for Bhutan to attend two-day SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry meeting today.

She said that SAARCWEC has 58 members and its’ headquarter is located in Pakistan which was an honour for the country.

She added that Vice President SAARCCCI Iftikhar Ali Malik was also leading the delegation and would present performance of the Chamber during the meeting.

She added that Mr. Malik would also inform the meeting that South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SAARCCI) would have its own headquarters building in federal capital and development work on the project has already been started.

Shaista Pervaiz Malik further said that during the meeting she would present performance report of the SAARCWEC and it would also be reviewed.

She said that during the meeting regional trade and intra regional women entrepreneurship sector would also be discussed and recommendation would be made in this regard.

She called upon 58 members of the council to work for promotion of SME sector especially for women for socioeconomic prosperity of the SAARC region.
