Govt to utilize all resources for rehabilitation of flood-hit people: CM Punjab

RAJANPUR: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the government would take all possible steps for the rehabilitation of flood affected people.

Talking to journalists after visiting a relief camp set-up for flood affected people at Kot Mitthan on Thursday, he said, “I would not take rest till the return of flood-affected people to their homes.”

Shahbaz Sharif lauded the efforts and arrangements made by the district government and also appreciated their performance.

He said that all possible resources would also be utilized for the maintenance of infrastructure damaged by the recent flood at Rajanpur.

He said that calamities were test by the Nature and the brave nations faced them courageously.

He said that Punjab government had allocated billions of rupees for the health sector and for Chief Minister Rural Road Programme and added that the sense of deprivation of the people of the district would be ended and the district would make progress by leaps and bounds after completion of the programme.

He said that the “dharna politics” sit-ins had caused irreparable loss to national economy and it had also affected the pace of country’s progress.

Punjab CM felicitated the nation over Judicial Commission’s verdict and added that truth always triumphs.

DCO Rajanpur Zahoor Hussain briefed the Punjab CM about the arrangements made by the district government regarding flood.
