Malaysian police seize 90 packets of ketum juice

MERSING: Police detained a 32-year-old man and seized 90 packets of ketum juice worth RM4,500 during a raid at a house in Taman Sri Mersing, here the other day.

District police chief Deputy Superintendent M. Kumar said the raid involving the district’s Criminal Investigation Division personnel also led to seizure of three online gambling machines.

“Policemen recovered 90 packets of ketum juice worth RM4,500. The packets were kept in containers used to store fish,” said Kumar in a press conference at the Mersing district police headquarters today. He said the suspect was being detained to asssist investigations.

Initial checks revealed that the ketum juice was to be sold to buyers in the neighbourhood and throughout the district.
