Saudi Tadawul shares down 0.09% to close at $56.23 barrel

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Transport, Petrochemicals and Industrial Investment sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Saudi Arabia, the Tadawul All Share declined 0.09% to close at $56.23 a barrel.

The best performers of the session on the Tadawul All Share were United Cooperative Assurance Co (SE:8190), which rose 4.85% or 0.74 points to trade at 16.00 at the close. Meanwhile, BURUJ COOPERATIVE INSURANCE CO (SE:8270) added 4.73% or 1.30 points to end at 28.80 and Qassim Agriculture Co. (SE:6020) was up 3.92% or 0.59 points to 15.65 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Electrical Industries Co (SE:1303), which fell 3.25% or 1.82 points to trade at 54.25 at the close. The National Shipping Co. (SE:4030) declined 1.95% or 1.00 points to end at 50.25 and Advanced Petrochemical Company (SE:2330) was down 1.75% or 1.00 points to 56.25.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Saudi Arabia Stock Exchange by 89 to 76.

Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.53% or 0.26 to $49.45 a barrel. while the August Gold contract rose 0.29% or 3.20 to trade at $1094.70 a troy ounce.

EUR/SAR was up 0.30% to 4.1113, while USD/SAR fell 0.02% to 3.7508.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 97.42.
