NEW YORK: Officers arrested a Mexican man after finding 119 pounds of marijuana hidden within his vehicle at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge, according to a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Customs and Border Protection officers referred a 19-year-old Mexican citizen living in La Feria for a secondary inspection, according to the agency release.
Officers discovered 23 packages of marijuana weighing about 119 pounds hidden within the black 2006 Chevy Trailblazer, authorities said.
The officers arrested the 19-year-old and seized the marijuana and Trailblazer, according to the news release.
The Mexican man was released into the custody of Homeland Security Investigations for further investigation.
