KARACHI: With the aim to help Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) continue its operations smoothly, NIB Bank Limited has given the national flag carrier Rs 10 billion financing.
NIB Chief Operating Officer (CEO) Atif Bokhari said this was a milestone for both organisations as it reflected trust and confidence of Pakistan’s private banking sector and efforts of the PIA management and government to turn around the corporation.
PIA Corporation (PIAC) Chairman Nasser Jaffer thanked Bokhari and his team for their commitment in completing such large bilateral transaction in record time. PIAC Managing Director Shahnawaz Rehman said nine A-320 aircrafts and five ATR-72 aircrafts had already joined the PIA fleet while four more A-320 aircrafts would be added soon.
