SAUDI PORTS: United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) has appointed senior executives from Saudi Ports Authority and Milaha to its board of directors.
Nabeel Al-Amudi, president of the Saudi Ports Authority, will serve as the new chairman of UASC’s board, with Sheikh Ali bin Jassim bin Mohammad Al-Thani, chairman of Qatar’s Milaha, serving as vice-chair.
Both men will, along with their fellow board members, be tasked with leading UASC’s global expansion plans.
The company has invested in 18,000 teu ultra-large container vessels and has recently signed cooperation agreements with both Hamburg Sud and the the Ocean Three alliance of China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) and CMA CGM.
