Bosan for early completion of electricity schemes

MULTAN: Federal Minister for Food and Security, Sikandar Hayyat Bosan has directed the CEO Mepco to complete on-going electricity schemes in NA-148 as the earliest.

He said this during a meeting with Chief Executive Officer Mepco Muzaffar Ali Abbasi at Mepco headquarters here on Monday.

CEO Mepco Muzaffar Ali Abbasi gave briefing on electricity system in flood-hit areas to the minister. Muzaffar Ali Abbasi informed Bosan that Muzaffargarh, DG Khan and Rahim Yar Khan Circle have been affected by the recent flood and electricity supply has been suspended in these areas in order to avoid incidents of electrocution.

He informed the minister that electricity supply would be restored after flood. The CEO Mepco directed the officers concerned to complete upgradation of transformers, balancing and LT schemes very soon in the constituency.

On this occasion, member Mepco Board of Directors Mian Zahid Pervez Malik informed the minister that the performance of Mepco was on top in 2014-15. He said that dozens of projects of transmission and grid stations have been completed in order to provide electricity supply to the consumers.
