CANBERRA: The leadership team of content producer and distributor Endemol Shine Australia has been officially unveiled by joint CEOs, brothers Mark and Carl Fennessy.
“We are truly excited about leading the newly merged business at such an extraordinary period of change within the Australian television landscape. Such a unique combination of personnel and resources brings together the country’s most talented content creators and executives under one roof. It’s definitely a case of one and one makes three,” Mark and Carl Fennessy said in a statement.
The managing director of the unscripted content team will be Peter Newman, promoted from his current role as director of programming at Shine Australia, where he has been responsible for top formats MasterChef, The Bachelor, Gogglebox, The Biggest Loser, Shark Tank and Australia’s Next Top Model.
Margaret Bashefield has been promoted into the role of supervising executive producer of unscripted content, reporting to Newman. Sara Horn will be managing director, production and operations, and Chris Fry becomes chief financial officer from his current role as finance and business development director, Shine.
The new leadership team follows the merger of parent companies Endemol and Shine Group, along with US-based Core Media Group, at the end of 2014, following a deal between 21st Century Fox and Apollo Global Management. Endemol Shine Australia will be based in Sydney from October.
