KARACHI: The KSE-100 index failed to consolidate early rally and plummet to 30076.28 points on a lethargic note as limited interest was shown by investors amid standstill on political front. The bourse, however, still managed to sustain its gains of 6.15 points or 0.02 percent in midday trading on Tuesday.
Earlier, the market opened with a buoyant mood and kept upward march, gaining 174 points to reach the level of 30244 points.
However, in the midst of political uncertainty and fears of raging floods, the investors preferred cautious buying, making the stocks to lose most of early gains.
The KSE which had went down on Monday made recovery and closed at 30070 points with modest gains.
The political stalemate in the federal capital has worsen with both the protesting parties – Imran Khan’s led PTI and Dr Allama Tahirul Qadri’s led PAT have announced quitting talks with the government. They have been encamped in the federal capital for more than a month now, demanding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign and dissolve the parliament.
