Rs33.54b annual budget for LDA, Wasa, Tepa approved

LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA)’s governing body has approved annual budget of Rs33.54 billion for LDA and its subordinate agencies, the Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning Agency (Tepa) and the Water and Sanitation Authority (Wasa).

As per detail, total resources of the LDA (Urban Development Wing) during the fiscal year 2014-15 have been estimated at Rs13.32 billion against the expected expenditures of Rs13.21 billion. The estimated amount will also include development expenditures of Rs11.19 billion. Rs1.93 billion will be spent on development projects in LDA housing schemes, while Rs1.67 billion will be spent on under-construction development schemes.

A total of Rs 4.16 billion has been allocated for new projects in the city including Rs2.94 billion for the total funding of new projects and Rs1.16 billion for LDA’s contribution to the public-private participation projects.

The Tepa will have a total of Rs 6.16 billion at its disposal whereas its expenditure has been estimated as Rs5.43 billion including the development works costing Rs5.16 billion. The Wasa is excepting total receipts of Rs14.05 billion in the financial year 2014-15 while it will spend Rs14.89 billion including Rs5.63 billion for the development schemes. A sum of Rs440 million will be spent for the installation of 100 water filtration plants in the city.
