Accord will be first Honda model with both Android Auto and CarPlay

TOKYO: Honda introduced last week a refreshed version of the Honda Accord. Coming to market in August, the 2016 Accord will be the first Honda model with both Android Auto and CarPlay.

The apps of the two smartphone operating systems are rendered on a 7-inch Display Audio touchscreen interface.

This touchscreen is paired with an upper 7.7-inch high-resolution display screen and steering wheel-mounted controls. The upper screen can display audio settings, turn-by-turn directions, time and trip information, LaneWatch and Rearview Camera displays, incoming calls, SMS text messages when stopped, and parking sensor alerts.

All 2016 Accords also can now be equipped with Honda Sensing, a suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies. Honda Sensing includes a Collision Mitigation Braking System with Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control.
