The Rotterdam (6,350 teu, built 2008) was purchased for $37.5m and is expected to be delivered to Diana by mid-September.

On June 30, the vessel completed a three-month timecharter to CMA CGM, for which it was earning $18,000 daily.

The Hamburg (6,350 teu, built 2009) was purchased for $38.5m and will be delivered by the end of November.

The containership is currently chartered to Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) at a gross charter rate of $14,000 per day, minus 3.75% commission paid to third parties.

Closure of the purchase transaction for the Hamburg is subject to the signing of a novation agreement to the timecharter contract of the vessel, Diana said today. The charterer has the option to redeliver the vessel at any time between January 13 and March 13, 2016.

Earlier, Diana announced the sale of its panamax boxship Cap Domingo (3,739 teu, built 2001) to an unnamed buyer for a gross price of $24.25m.
