ABUJA: The League Management Company (LMC) has tasked the administrators of the 20 Premier League clubs to put into practice at their clubs, insights gained from the one day Executive Training Program organized by the LMC on at the Abuja Hilton.
The advice was the crux of an address by Shehu Dikko, the LMC Chairman while flagging off the program which was attended by the Club Chairmen and some other football stake holders including representative of the League’s Official Broadcast partners.
Dikko said the training has become auspicious at this time that plunging oil prices in the international market has led to dwindling in state resources which have affected all facets of national economy.
“We must tap into the learnings from this program to expand our revenue base to position clubs to meet their obligations to players”, the LMC boss noted.
“The reality today is that government is increasingly having difficulty meeting its obligation and they won’t be throwing money at football. So, we have to take advantage of the revenue potentials of club football to create alternative sources of funding our clubs. That is the reason we have gathered some of the best professionals here to share ideas with the club administrators.”
