SANTO DOMINGO: The Customs Agency (DGA) destroyed bootleg alcohol and goods worth around RD$476.3 million, its sixth operation this year here the other day.
Among the destroyed booze figure 315,196 cases of wine and vodka worth around RD$759.7 million; 16,000 bottles of perfume estimated at RD $131.8 million.
Also destroyed were two boxes of belt buckles worth around RD$131.2 million and various other goods with an estaimated of RD$305.8 million.
Customs adviser Gregorio Lora said the operations aim to protect the legal businesses and representatives of certified brands.
