Gepco seizes 1000 electric meters during crackdown

SIALKOT: Gujranwala Electric Power Company (Gepco) has seized as many as 1000 electric meters during the ongoing fresh and vigorous crackdown against the consumers using double meters at one place, in Gujranwala region’s all the six districts, including Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahaud Din and Hafizabad. The special Gepco vigilance teams were locating the double and more electricity connections/meters at one place while visiting door-to-door in Gujranwala Division, in this regard.

According to the senior Gepco officials, the Gepco has disconnected all the double supplies of electricity to as many as 1000 electricity connections of domestic, commercial and industrial consumers, which had been using two or more electrical meters/connections at one place, saying that the Gepco ha seized their 1000 electricity meters.

Meanwhile, Superintending Engineer (SE) Gepco Gujranwala Zahid Javaid has warned that the FIRs would be lodged the said accused consumers if they tried to re-use the double electricity connections at their places in future.
