PBC asks govt to withdraw 16pc professional tax, 0.3pc WHT

LAHORE: The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has urged the government to withdraw 16 percent professional tax and 0.3 percent withholding tax on bank transactions.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chairman Pakistan Bar Council Azam Nazir Tarar in which the Budget 2015-16 was discussed.

Azam Nazir Tarar demanded the government withdraw such taxes which were creating problems for common people and also for business community.

He said that imposition of tax against the manifesto of ruling party and violation of Article 38 of Constitution of Pakistan.

The Chairman Executive Committee Ahsan Bhone and Members Syed Qalbe Hassn, Syed Kaleem Ahmed khursheed, Mian Abbas Ahmed and Muhammad Yaseen Azad participated in the meeting.
