KARACHI: Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Chief Executive S M Muneer has disclosed that ‘Expo Pakistan Exhibition’ has been postponed for three months due to sit-ins in the federal capital.
He said this while addressing a reception in his honour hosted by Federal B Area Association of Trade and Industry. Association President Sheikh Muhammad Tehsin, Patron-in-Chief Feroz Alam Lari, Muhammad Irfan, Masroor Alvi, Rehan Zeeshan, Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan, Muneer Sultan, Adrees Kagi, Khalid Tawab, and Mian Zahid Hussain were also present on the occasion. SM Muneer said that sit-ins in Islamabad had badly affected Pakistan’s image in the world and visa services from embassies has become difficult. He said business community was against these sit-ins because they are badly affecting Pakistan’s image.

of Pakistani embassies have clearly stated that foreign traders and investors are reluctant to visit Pakistan and that’s why, four-day exhibition which had to kick start from October 22 has been postponed. According to Muneer, TDAP earned Rs 3.5 million from Aalishaan Pakistan exhibition held in New Delhi and this time, 80 percent administrative expenditures were minimized. He said more than 1.5 million people participated in the exhibition and Indian citizens purchased Pakistan items while standing in queues.
He hoped that this exhibition would bore good results. Muneer said some elements wanted to disturb Pakistan-India relations. He said the Indian government officials did not encourage Pakistan exhibition but Indian traders, businessmen and citizens made it successful. He said Pakistani government had supported Indian exhibition in Pakistan but opposite was the case in India.
