TOKYO: Years since it was confirmed to happen, fans are still curious and have their eyes open to know when Bandai Namco would announce the release date of “Tekken X Street Fighter,” the said follow up to the crossover fighting game “Street Fighter vs. Tekken.”
Although it has been almost half a decade since it was first announced, it was confirmed in a report by Uber Gizmo that “Tekken X Street Fighter” release date is still going to happen and has not been cancelled.
In addition to that, game producer Katsuhiro Harada revealed in a Famitsu interview that the game is still happening and that has been progressing slowly ever since it was announced a few years back.
“I’ve been saying this since before, but the fact of the matter is that we’re at a pretty far stage into its development,” Harada said. “It might seem like we haven’t started on it at all, but the character lineup has been decided upon since a very long time ago and we’ve already finished the polygon models, moves, and systems.”
Although the release date of “Tekken X Street Fighter” wasn’t expected to take so long, Harada also ensured in an interview with VG 247 that the game would happen just not soon.
“It’s very difficult to talk about,” he said. “Obviously, I had originally planned to release it much earlier than we’re currently looking at.”
“People have been talking about the game for such a long time that they aren’t going to be surprised if you just release it normally. I don’t know if that’s what we have planned, but we do plan to have some kind of surprise.”
Although there are no official words regarding the release date of “Tekken X Street Fighter,” fans have their eyes wide open for further updates regarding the game.
