FBR to recover outstanding dues from ship-breakers

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to tighten its rope around 22 ship breakers who are not paying outstanding dues against them. The authorities are also gearing up efforts to receive the amount with fine from them in near future. The FBR authorities have already decided to take strict action against them who found involved in sales tax evasion.

Sources told Customs Today .that their bank account will be frozen and strict legal action will be taken against ship breakers who are involved in defaulting. FBR also directed Regional Tax Office and Large Tax Payers Units to provide forward full details of said ship breakers.
