FAISALABAD: Inter Disciplinary Research Center of Air University (AU) is fully prepared to play a proactive role in industrial development by bridging industry-academia gap in the country, said AU Research, Innovation and Commercialization Director Air commodore Afzaal Khan.
He was addressing a ceremony after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the AU and Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) here.
He said that AU attached great significance to industry related research of practical nature instead of mere publication of research articles.
He said that AU could play its role in the development of almost all segments of life with special emphasis on textile sector through its well qualified faculty and research laboratories.
He informed that the AU had inked its first MoU with FCCI, adding that the university had the potential to resolve the problems of local industry and could exploit this potential for mutual benefit. To a question, he said that the government was also making serious efforts to bridge the gap between industry and academia.
Earlier, in his address of welcome, FCCI President Engineer Suhail Bin Rashid explained in detail the role of Faisalabad in the overall development of the country.
