MULTAN: The Anti Smuggling Organisation (ASO) of Customs Intelligence and Investigation-FBR, Multan region has recovered almost 72,000 tablets of Indian- origin aphrodisiac drugs which were non-custom duty paid and lacked legal documents.
There were two different brands involved in the seized tablets -Vega 100 and Cobra 120 of Indian-origin and they were loaded on a bus coming from Dera Ghazi Khan. The tablets were loaded in Polythene bags and they were captured during routine inspection near Chowk Qureshi, Muzaffargarh. The tablets were coming from Afghanistan under Afghan Transit Trade Accord and were actually brought from India.
The customs team captured this medicine under Section 168 Customs Act 1969. During investigation, the driver told Customs ASO team that he did not know anything about this consignment and some unidentified person loaded this consignment from Dera Ghazi Khan Bus stand terminal.
Superintendent Anti Smuggling Organisation Malik Tanvir supervised the operation along with his staff members Muhammad Asif Abbas, Additional Collector, Syed Ghulam Raza Shah, Deputy Superintendent ,Inspector Arshad Nadeem ,Irshad Ali ,Akhtar Hussain, Irfan Qureshi, Jamil Ahmad, Munhammad Hashim and Ishfaq Hussain. Talking to Customs Today, Multan Customs Collector Sarfraz Warraich said that we would unearth further facts about the recovered contraband aphrodisiac drug.
