DEL RIO: U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Del Rio Station detained a U.S. citizen who was wanted by authorities in Illinois for homicide.
Border Patrol agents assigned to the Del Rio Station arrested a United States citizen who made an illegal entry near Del Rio. Record checks revealed Luis Manuel Robles, 35, had an active warrant for homicide out of Des Plaines, Illinois. The subject was transported to the Val Verde County Correctional Facility pending extradition to the Cook County, Illinois Sheriff’s Office.
“This apprehension highlights the fact that no arrest is routine, every day the men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol perform their duties realizing this,” said Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Rodolfo Karisch. “Our mission is to protect our borders and keep our communities safe.”
The Del Rio Border Patrol Sector is part of the Joint Task Force-West South Texas Corridor, which leverages federal, state and local resources to combat transnational criminal organizations.
