KARACHI: The Input-Output Co-efficient Organisation (IOCO)-FBR has put curbs on dozens of importers in connection with the issuance of provisional certificates, it is learnt.

Sources informed Customs Today that IOCO has issued more than 50 provisional certificates to the importers in which it allows the importers for importing raw material and re-export the furnished goods after utilising the imported raw-material for strengthening the local industries.

They also said, “On the next step, IOCO officials on the directives of IOCO director surveyed the manufacturing units which were issued provisional certificates.”

“During the survey, it is found that dozens of importers do not have the facilities of proper manufacturing units,” sources added.

In the backdrop of the entire situation, IOCO authorities put dozens of importers on objection while the survey process is underway.

Sources hinted that the number of importers under objection may be increased during the survey.
