Many people may have heard about the robot receptionist in a luxurious hotel in Japan, or the robot chef in a restaurant, or even the robotic dogs. These robots are indeed helpful for the business sector as well as the environment.
In fact, one recent robot invention, which is named “Bug Bots” can now help in search and rescue operations. Surprisingly, these water hopping robots can mimic the real water hopping insects.
During environmental monitoring and surveillance, these Bug Bots can potentially save lives. Although it is still being developed, scientists can still foresee the use of it in the future.
In this world full of animals, almost 1200 of them can walk on water. Some of them are mammals, insects, and reptiles. Take for instance the so-called “Jesus Lizard,” with the use of his force and speed, they can prevent themselves from going underwater despite of their heavy bodies.
Small insects just like water striders can easily walk on water, thanks to the water’s surface tension. Water strider-inspired robots were created by scientists in 2003. The robots that were developed that time can indeed walk on water but not jump on it. The reason behind this is unknown until scientists found out about the mystery behind it.
