FBR to conduct audit of non-filer traders

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to conduct audit of non-filer traders and also decided that traders who uses ATM credit/debit cards are not bound for the registration of sales tax.

According to sources, the Federal Board of Revenue has amended sales tax special procedure rules and decided to conduct audit of the non-filer traders while the traders who come in the first category of the policy introduced in federal budget 2015-16 will be registered in the sales tax.

Sources further added that on the other hand all the sub departments of FBR has directed to ensure the submission of tax returns of all the traders come in the first category of that policy including national and international chain stores, air condition shopping malls, the traders whose electricity bills exceeded Rs 6 lac, suppliers of whole sales, and importers and registered them in sales tax as well.  Meanwhile, it was decided that traders who uses credit/debit cards will not be required to register for sales tax and not forced to submit tax returns.
