NAB KPK arrests ex-EDO Lakki Marwat over corruption charges

PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has arrested Noor Hassan, the then Executive District Officer (Education) Lakki Marwat (BPS – 19), for his alleged involvement in corruption and misuse of authority while appointing teachers and technical staff in Education Department district Lakki Marwat in connivance with others.

As per detail, Noor Hassan performed his duties as EDO Education Lakki from 2009 to 2011. During his tenure, he made illegal appointments in BPS 1 to 14 in different cadres in Education Department District Lakki Marwat. The accused made appointments through handpicked unlawful committee. Some appointment orders were issued prior to the advertisement of those particular posts in newspapers. Further, the most essential requirement is approval of District Selection Committee was also not obtained in majority of appointments.

It merits to mention here, that in Primary School Teacher (PST) (female) 19 vacancies were available but the accused issued 79 appointment orders. The accused allegedly issued the appointment orders in piece meal during his tenure to his blue eyed against bribe in gross violation of merit / rules.

The accused person will be produced before the Accountability Court for obtaining his physical remand to proceed further as per law.
