ALABAMA: Cory Wilbanks, former director of leadership development at the Decatur Morgan County (DMC) Chamber of Commerce, is one of 78 new career coaches in the state as a part of the Alabama Career Coach initiative. Wilbanks started work Monday at Hartselle High as a career coach, which is a new position for schools across the state.
At Hartselle High, Wilbanks will work with seniors to explore different career options, identify what they are passionate about and what will suit their personality and skill set to choose a good fit for them. Her job will be to help students decide their next step after high school.
I had a really hard time of deciding what I wanted to do, and so I went through many majors and I hope to help students not have quite as rocky a road as I did when deciding what to do long term, Wilbanks said.
