Nigeria customs shoots 5 smugglers in clash

ABUJA: Five persons were injured yesterday in a shoot-out between officials of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and suspected smugglers in Oju-Ore area of Ota in the Ado-Odo/Ota LGA of the state.

It was gathered that the customs officers had been trailing the smugglers from Owode area in Yewa South before getting at them in Oju-Ore where the shooting took place. The gun duel which lasted for about 45 minutes left the five people injured and they were rushed to the General hospital in Ota.
