Chinese Customs cracks biggest fishing tackle smuggling case

BEIJING: A big fishing tackle smuggling case was cracked by the anti-smuggling Customs officers, announced Gongbei Customs District. This is the biggest fishing tackle smuggling case that has been ever seized in the country. The case involved a value of RMB 358 million and an evaded revenue of RMB98.9 million.  5 smuggling gangs and a large quantity of fishing rods and parts (involving such brands as “shimano”, “gamakatsu” and “daiwa”) were smashed and seized in the case.

Officers of Gongbei Customs District said that they would beef up control efforts over the imported fishing tackle and enhance risk analysis to crack down on the smuggling of such products. Customs officers would try very effort to fight against tax evasion and tax dodging and ensure a healthy market.
