Excise recovers huge quantity of narcotics, books five people

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department’s Special Anti-Narcotics Cell raided different areas of Lahore and recovered a huge quantity of heroin, chars and illicit liquor from drug sellers.

According to Excise and Taxation officer Muhammad Lateef Anjum, on the directives of Region-A Director Rizwan Sherwani, special action was conducted in the city against drug peddlers.

The team comprising Waqas Aslam and Qamar Shah raided the areas of Mustafabad, South Cantt, Liberty and Nawan Kot and recovered 1.5kg heroin, 1.25kg charas and 120 litres of Illicit liquor from accused Shahzad, Jamshed alias Shera, Dilawar Masih, Amir and Amanat Masih.

Cases have been registered against them in the relevant police stations. The campaign against sale of narcotics will continue as per the directives of higher authorities, it is learnt.
