KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate-Appraisement East – formerly MCC PaCCS has been facing audit reports and observations for the short recovery/revenue leakages totaling Rs 1043.889 million in the Fiscal Year 2014-15.
The Directorate General of Internal Audit-Customs has prepared a total of 14 audit reports and 56 audit observations pointing out short recovery and loss to the national kitty by the MCC-Appraisement East in the last fiscal year FY 2014-15.
The official sources told Customs Today.that the MCC Appraisement East – formerly MCC PaCCS had always responded promptly to the audit paras and audit observations sent to them by the Director General of the Directorate of Internal Audit-Customs.
The short recovery/revenue leakages were detected mainly because of violation of different SROs in clearing the consignments. The SROs included 480(I)/2007, 565(I)/2007, 575(I)/2007, 1125(I)/2011 related the consignments of steel billets, anti-dumping and telecommunication sectors.
