Traders reject sales tax on retailers

LAHORE: The All Pakistan Traders Association rejected sales tax on retailers under Amended Finance Act 2014-2015 here the other day

All Pakistan Traders Association President Khalid Pervaiz said that according to the amendment, it is necessary for all national and international branded stores, businesses in air-conditioned shopping malls, debit and credit card holder retailers, who use Rs 0.6 million electricity per year and for wholesale dealers to get register in sales tax.

Pervaiz also said that all those businesspersons who pay less than Rs 20,000 bill of electricity per month would submit five percent sales tax while those who pay up to Rs 50,000 electricity bill per month would pay 7.5 percent sales tax. He said that government should take care of small and medium class business holders.

Khalid Pervaiz called the All Pakistan Traders Conference on October 16 for planning future line of action.
