Chinese companies taking interest to acquire PSM: Jatoi

KARACHI: The government is committed to privatise Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) by November as some Chinese companies are taking interest to acquire it.

This was revealed by Federal Minister for Industries & Production Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi, while talking to media at the inauguration of the 6th edition of Industrial Electrical and Electronic Exhibition of Pakistan (IEEEP Fair) at Expo Centre.

“The government is in talks with different Chinese companies with regards to the privatization of PSM. We would hopefully complete this task of privatization of the mill by November,” said Jatoi.

Jatoi said that the present democratic government believes in the promotion of trade at international level, while the Ministry for Industries & Production is making efforts to flourish and facilitate different industries to strengthen the human resource, economy and businesses of Pakistan.

He congratulated the organiser and event manager, Badar Expo Solutions, for holding this mega event. Later, he visited different halls and stalls along with Chairman IEEEP Engr. Asif Siddiqui, Vice Chairman IEEEP Navid Ansari, and COO Badar Expo Zohair Naseer. He appreciated the exhibitors. It is to be noted that more than 90 local and international companies are participating in this 3-day IEEEP Fair.
