‘Missing’ investigation officer appears in Soofia Latif’s court

KARACHI: The investigation officer at the Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigations-FBR against whom Customs and Taxation Court Special Judge Soofia Latif had issued bailable warrants on September 18 and September 22 finally appeared in court on September 26.

He submitted challan in a case regarding seizure of refrigeration gas, chemical drums and refrigeration copper tubes during a raid on a warehouse in Mehran Town.

The special judge had issued bailable warrants for Investigation Officer Khurram Saeed for being absent during two earlier hearings.

According to FIR No M-19/1-A/DCI/FIR/2014 lodged by the Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigations-FBR, at least 89,669kg of foreign-origin refrigeration gas filled in large, medium and small containers; 15,686kg of foreign-origin chemical drums and 1,570kg of foreign-origin refrigeration copper tube were seized during a raid from Cool Corporation’s warehouse in Mehran Town.
