HELSINKI: The turnover of construction enterprises increased by 8.3 per cent and the sales volume by 7.9 per cent year-on-year in the March to May period of 2015, according to Statistics Finland’s data.
The turnover grew by 2.7 per cent in the corresponding period one year earlier. Statistics show that the turnover grew in all construction industries during the March-May 2015 period. The turnover of civil engineering grew most, by 16.0 per cent while that of building construction went up by 8.3 per cent. The turnover of specialised construction activities grew by 6.2 per cent.
The sales volume of construction enterprises grew by 18.0 per cent in civil engineering. The sales volume of building construction increased by 8.0 per cent and that of specialised construction activities by 5.9 per cent, the data show. The volume index of enterprises’ sales is calculated by removing the effect of price changes from the turnover index series.
