COPENHAGEN: Chevron has taken one suezmax tanker owned by Tsakos Energy Navigation (TEN) on a two-year timecharter, and renewed its contract on another for a further two years.
Spyros K (157,600 dwt, built 2011) and Euro (157,500 dwt, built 2012) were both fixed at $34,000 per day on their respective charters, brokers say. The rate is around a 60% increase on the $21,000 per day Chevron is paying during its current two-year charter of the Euro, which expires in mid-September.
