FAISALABAD: Korean Ambassador in Pakistan Dr Song Jong-hwan has called on University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan to discuss further cementing agricultural, trade and academia ties to get benefit from each other’s experiences.

The ambassador said they were planning to provide 500 million dollar ‘Economic Development Cooperation Fund’ to Pakistan from 2015 to 2017. Talking about Pak-Korea relations, he said Korea built the M-2 Motorway between Islamabad and Lahore in the 1990s. Today, Korea was increasingly investing in Pakistan’s infrastructure and development projects. These included hydro-power projects which would provide much needed electricity to Pakistan, tunnels and roads which would link Pakistan to Central Asia.
