BUDAPEST: Sales of household durables in Hungary saw a year-on-year increase of 4.9% in the second quarter of this year, decelerating from an annual 11.1% in the first quarter, market researchers GfK said on Thursday.
Leaders of sales in the second quarter were mobile phones, with an annual 22.6% growth, and refrigerators, chiefly due to a Hungarian government-subsidised exchange program, data by the market researcher suggest.
However, total sales of large household durables grew 18.7% from a year ago after an annual rise of 23.1% in the first quarter. Yet, sales of small household appliances accelerated to an annual 6.6% from 4.8% in the first quarter.
