ALASKA: Polk County Commissioner Jason Ward is looking to get busy as one of the latest appointments made by Gov. Nathan Deal in August.Ward was one of four appointments made to the Partnership for Public Facilities and Infrastructure Act Guidelines Committee. The Polk County Commission vice chair said he was excited to be appointed to the board to represent county governments across the state.
I’m looking forward to working with leaders around the state to establish common sense measures that allow our state and local governments to take full advantage of private sector ingenuity in feasibly constructing and maintaining infrastructure assets,” he said in an e-mail Monday morning.
The purpose of this new committee, according to Ward, is to establish guidelines over the handling of “unsolicited” project proposals, those coming from the private sector in the absence of a request for proposals from a local government agency.
Ward is the managing partner of Appraisal Associates in Carrollton, along with his role on the county commission, and ex officio representative to the Polk County Development Authority and Chamber of Commerce. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Samford University.Ward and his wife, Hannah, are also members of the 2015 Leadership Georgia class.
