NEW DELHI: Indian smartphone manufacturer Lava has added another device to its portfolio. The new device is a budget Android device called the Iris Atom 2.
Priced at Rs 4949, it has a 4.5 inch FWVGA display with a resolution of 480×854. The Iris Atom 2 is powered by a 1.3 GHz processor and has 512 MB RAM. It comes with 8GB internal storage, which can be expanded to 32GB via a microSD card.
It also has a 5MP rear snapper with LED flash and a VGA front camera. The phone ships with Android 4.4 KitKat, but is upgradeable to 5.1 Lollipop.
The device is powered by a 1750mAh battery and supports 3G bands. In addition, the device also features gesture controls for easy access to apps and settings.
In the background of heavy competition, device prices are falling significantly. In the sub-5k category, the Phicomm Energy 653 is available at Rs 4999 making it the cheapest 4G LTE handset in the country.
