US: U.S. shipments of major home appliances rose 11.2% year-over-year to 5.60 million units in July, according to AHAM. Year-to-date shipments are up 6.2%.
July shipments of washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, ranges, and overs were up 6.3% to 3.49 million units. Home comfort appliances were up 30.6, cooking equipment up 16.3%, food preservation up 8.3%, home laundry up 7.8%, and kitchen clean-up up 4.8%.
investors are watching Whirlpool (NYSE: WHR) and General Electric (NYSE: GE) following results.
