ARIZONA: Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) President Glenn Hamer has been touring around the state to rally the support of business leaders, community leaders and other chambers for Gov. Doug Ducey’s plan to ask voters to infuse more than $2 billion into K-12 education within 10 years.
Based in Phoenix and standing as one of the largest chambers of commerce in the state, the ACCI focuses predominantly on public policy and aims to serve as the collective voice for Arizona business at the state legislature.”People are extremely enthusiastic,” Hamer said. “You’re going to see just an incredible amount of business support for the governor’s proposal unlike anything we’ve seen in a long time.”
Hamer and chambers throughout the state are very supportive of the plan because funding for K-12 education has been a cornerstone initiative of theirs for many years. “Funding K-12 education is a given for all of us,” said Marnie Uhl, Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce President and CEO. “That’s our workforce.
