Poland’s exports grow 8% y/y between Jan-June 2015

WARSAW: Polish exports grew by eight percent y/y between January and June 2015, slightly below the EU28 average of 13 percent.

Over the first half of the year, total Polish exports amounted to EUR 87.8 billion, an increase of eight percent over the same period a year earlier. The largest slice of the cake were exports within the single European market (EUR 69.7 bn, +12 percent), while exports beyond the European Union fell (EUR 18.1 bn, -4 percent).

The largest rise in total exports was seen by Cyprus (+28 percent), while Lithuania saw the largest overall drop (-4 percent), the Eurostat agency said.

“The first estimate for extra-EU28 exports of goods in June 2015 was EUR 159.7 billion, up by 13 percent compared with June 2014 (EUR 141.4 bn),” Eurostat wrote in a statement.

“Imports from the rest of the world stood at EUR 149.3 bn, up by 7 pecent compared with June 2014 (EUR 139.4 bn).”
