CDA launches three-month-long renovation, beautification campaign

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a three-month-long renovation and beautification campaign to aware the citizens of the federal capital and to address their complaints.

During the campaign, citizens committees, shopkeepers, traders’ associations, civil society, students, and the public will be apprised of their responsibilities towards keeping the city clean.

Different formations from the civic agency will be visiting each sector on designated dates and address complaints from area residents.

According to a CDA spokesperson, the authority’s chairman will pay surprise visits to different residential and commercial areas to ensure the campaign is a success.

In the coming three months, the civic management and sanitation wings of CDA will execute a general cleanliness drive across the city, including proper collection and disposal of garbage and the removal of wall-chalking and posters.

In addition, the authority’s environment wing has been assigned the task of removing rank vegetation, shrubs and bushes, as well as maintaining greenbelts, road medians, roundabouts and intersections. The wing will also be responsible for planting saplings and trees. It will also maintenance and repair roads, footpaths, sewerage openings, drainage lines and ensure provision of missing manhole covers.
