Customs intelligence seizes large quantity of residue wax in Multan

MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation officials captured residue wax (formally known as foots oil) worth Rs 3 million from a truck.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Additional Director Nisar Ahmad formed special teams for the operation on a tip-off. The officials seized the imported residue wax.

The Multan Customs officials have seized such a large quantity of oil for the first time. The total worth of the seized residue wax is Rs 3 million and was smuggled to use in local industry.

More than 120 drums were seized during the raid. The residue wax is commodity derived from semi-refined paraffin wax. It is used in manufacturing of various chemical products in industry.

The Lahore-bound truck was coming from Quetta. The documents presented to the officials were unidentified. Samples have been sent to a laboratory for chemical examination for further proceeding.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Additional Director Nisar Ahmad told Customs Today, “We have first time seized residue wax in the history of Multan Customs Intelligence and Investigation. We are waiting for laboratory reports for further investigation.”
